In line with our motto, ‘Success is no accident’, we base our day-to-day work on the values that matter most to us: sustainability, tradition and intergenerational responsibility. These are principles that naturally stem from wood itself as a material. Wood from the forests of our region, which we have been processing at our two sites in Upper Bavaria since our company was founded – in a resource-efficient, forward-looking manner and with due regard for social and economic considerations.

Our Values

Ever since our beginnings with a sawmill and a mill on the River Isen, we have regarded success as something that cannot be measured by figures alone. The way in which success is achieved is just as important to us. Perhaps this stems from our tradition as a family business, where Alexander Obermeier is now the third generation to take on leadership responsibilities.

In fact, we have always believed that working with wood properly requires not only expert know-how and a love for the finished product, but also respect for and a love of nature. This comprehensive and holistic approach has characterised Obermeier since its very beginnings – and will no doubt continue to do so for generations to come

When the founder’s grandson is already at work in a company, this is not only a testament to consistency, foresight and solidarity. It also proves that a great deal was done right in the past. For instance, we have succeeded not only in constantly expanding our wealth of experience and knowledge of wood as a material, and in passing this on to the next generation and to our employees. But we have also succeeded in fostering an awareness of the responsibility each of us bears for the forest.

At Obermeier, however, it has been part of our ethos for more than six decades and has become a daily reality – whether in relation to the environment, economic considerations or social aspects. For example, we source timber from sustainably managed forests in the region.

We reinvest the majority of our profits back into the company and foster sustainable partnerships with customers, suppliers and employees.

At Obermeier, we define innovation as only those new developments that genuinely bring benefits to our customers. That is why we work closely with them. Furthermore, we involve our long-standing suppliers in our development work and also foster a regular exchange of information and knowledge between the various departments within the company.
